Sydney’s newest bistro and bar—founded by Chef Hamish Ingham and sommelier Rebecca Line—presents modern cuisine that celebrates botanicals, and a bar that’s really only about one thing—vermouth. Vermouth is a strongly alcoholic red or white wine flavoured with herbs and spices, which became popular in late 17th century Europe as an aperitif. Lines oversees an extensive selection that includes over 40 varieties to be served straight or in cocktails, at any time of the day. Chef Hamish Ingham prepares a Mediterranean influenced menu which pairs well with vermouth and a 100 wine list of Australian and Italian wines. The bistro’s interior design references the Banks era late 1700’s, evoking a delicately classical atmosphere not to be missed.

Lovers of fine French dining are probably well aware of Double Bay’s, Vine. The team behind Vine have been busy with their latest initiative—Eté in Barangaroo. Chef Andrew Bolton has designed a new menu showcasing 100 per cent locally sourced, seasonal produce. Dishes are prepared with traditional cooking methods that are authentically French. The focus here is on genuine French flavour. The Eté wine list will also be seasonly focused, offering a quarterly selection of boutique wines that you can't usually order by the glass.

Three best friends each contributed something they love to this unique store – tailored shirts, coffee and whisky.

Pairing tailored shirts, coffee and whisky may seem a little odd, but husband and wife Justin and Louka Marmot, and friend Adam Hofbauer have successfully done just that. The secret to their success is that Shirt Bar, on the corner of Scotch Row and Shipwright Walk, does these three things really well. Adam as the ‘coffee maestro’ is responsible for the house blend F.A.T—For All Things. Justin’s family has a shirt making business and Louka worked in the fashion industry. The Bar boasts over 150 types of whisky as well as beer, wine and cocktail specials.
