Follow The Red Ribbon To The Star

Lunar New Year celebrations are lining up at The Star Entertainment Group with a carnival of festivities set to take over Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Star Sydney, Treasury Brisbane and The Star Gold Coast will come alive as they celebrate the Year of the Pig with stunning festive theming and entertainment, unforgettable banquets and unique dishes starring across The Star’s signature dining destinations and bespoke events.

From magical Brisbane night markets with Luke Nguyen, to firecrackers and lion dancers to Chinese lanterns and interactive wishing trees; The Star will be the most thrilling destination to celebrate Lunar New Year 2019.

The Star Entertainment Group Chief Marketing Officer George Hughes says the jam-packed calendar of events is a reflection of The Star’s longstanding support of Australia’s rich multiculturalism.

“Lunar New Year is a significant event on the Australian multicultural calendar,” Mr Hughes said. “In 2018 the festival attracted almost one million visitors to our properties in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

“Prosperity is a defining trait of the zodiac animal of the Pig and our largest ever program of Lunar New Year festivities across our properties will launch the Year of the Pig with energy and optimism.

“The significant calendar of events we have planned for Lunar New Year 2019 complements our longstanding multicultural partnerships.

“The Star Sydney has been a Leadership Partner of the City of Sydney’s Lunar Festival since 2013 and will once again support The Australian Turf Club’s Chinese Festival of Racing at Royal Randwick, while Treasury Brisbane continues its proud support of the Vietnamese Lunar Festival.

“Together with our Hong Kong-based joint venture partners, Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium, our multi-billion dollar property investments in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast will also drive further growth in inbound tourism and visitation from Asia.”
